I just received word that Mike Wieringo has recently passed away (August 12, 2007) at the age of 44.
Michael “Mike” Wieringo (June 24, 1963 [1]-August 12, 2007[2]) was an American comic book artist. He first came to prominence in the comic book industry for his work on DC Comics‘ The Flash with writer Mark Waid in the early 1990s. After his short run on the the Flash Wieringo briefly worked on another DC title, this time Robin with writer Chuck Dixon, before leaving DC for Marvel Comics.
The information is sketchy but it seems he was the victim of a fatal heart attack. I’ve been trying to find news online but was unable to find anything more substantial. The closest I can get to an actual confirmation is on his Wikipedia entry.

Anyway, condolences to his family and friends. Rest in peace, Mike.
