Turtle Stills

Of course I’m not talking about your average, run-of-the-mill, speed-challenged turtles.

I’m talking about one of the raddest, baddest, and one of the most successful franchise to come out of the comic book scene THE Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles…or TMNT for short. A new movie is being made about these ninjas in a half-shell (turtle power!) and it’s going to be done completely in CG.

But wait! What was that about the turtles being from comic books?

The TMNT was a comic created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird meant to parody Marvel Comics Mutant Books and Frank Miller’s Daredevil Run which featured a lot of Japanese elements one of which were ninjas. Kevin Eastman currently owns, publishes, and edits the popular and sexually-charged magazine HEAVY METAL which will probably explain why his name sounds familiar to some of you folks out there (pervs!).

After a toy licensing deal and an animated series, the title became part of pop culture history and went on to become one of the most successful franchise ever.

I saw a preview of this in one cable channel and I thought I was dreaming. Looks good! I was a major TMNT fan back when it first came out (and I suppose I still am), and I had all sorts of collectibles (shared with my brothers, of course) hehe. I had dibs on being Mikey, and up until now can sing the theme song *cringe* Ah, the memories.

Joel: Oh, yes. Things are looking good so far. :)

Kat: Same here. In fact, I remember having a crush on April O’Neil back then. :)

I used to wish that April would just get together with that guy with the hockey mask (no not Jason), for some reason ehehe. I cannot forsee a human and turtle relationship somehow (pets?) :D

For some reason I wanted April to get together with the guy with the hockey mask (no, not Jason ahaha. Forgot his name). I didn’t like the mutant frogs they came out with.

I think his name was Casey Jones. Yep, the follow-ups and imitators weren’t as good though I kinda liked Biker Mice from Mars. :)

Hey hey hey hey…wait lang, something caught my attention…ano ang Heavy Metal na yan? Bat di ko alam yan? San mabibili yan?

Sana pala I kept all my TMNT t-shirts and costumes…if I had known they would make a comeback….

Sorsi: Sheltered ka kasi. Ha ha ha!

You can find copies of Heavy Metal in most comic specialty shops and the like but, if you’re lucky, you can find copies (cheaper too) in your local Booksale outlets.

If you kept your old TMNT merchandize you probably would’ve made a mint on E-bay. :D

movie was great, funny thing is that april completely turned me on! I wound but staring at her body most of the time almost went crazy when I saw her in the ninja outfit (which is quite appealing) and she also was very strong. I also like that she changes her cloths, because most people just stick with the same cloths to whole movie. I thought it was great having her and giving the movie sex appeal.

I agree, Boltx. April gave the franchise much needed sex appeal. I mean seriously, how sexy can you find a bunch of turtles and a rat?

Thanks for visiting! :)
