“In the meantime, habang wala pang president ang Congress na ito ay si Direk Carlo J. Caparas na muna ang tatayong temporary president natin.”
What the-!?
“Wala bang tutol? Okay, so siya na ang president ng Komiks Congress! Palakpakan natin si Direk Carlo J. Caparas!”
I can’t believe it was that fast. I haven’t even finished contemplating the first statement yet.
Okay, time for me to go. Exit stage left.

Why does the congress need a president?
Gerry: No idea, considering that they haven’t even decided what kind of organization it’s going to be (NGO, Cooperative, Foundation, etc.).
People have been throwing comments and suggestions for an hour and a half before it was mentioned by the mediators that some of the suggestion can’t be considered yet because the body hasn’t decided what it wants to be (if such was the case we should’ve opened the forum discussing that instead so we can get down to business).
It’s even more frustrating because, for an open forum, the mediators spent more time talking than the audience themselves.
There’s a lot of things I want to say, but I’ll refrain from doing so at the time being. I’ll let that just play itself out while I just go about my business. I’ll just go and continue doing my comics.
… hmmm…
nood na lang ako ng Heroes…
Gerry: Same sentiments here. With any luck, a lot of good things will still come out of this.
Carlo: Onga e. Ganun na lang sana ang ginawa ko.
We have no choice but to wait for the outcome. They should have told the attendees earlier that there was a need for an interim secretariat. It would have made the proceedings much faster. I hope things will go in a faster pace next meeting.
Jonathan: Yeah, the government people there (assuming they’ve done this kind of thing before) should’ve known better. Me, I think I’m going to do what I love doing and that is making comics.
Let me know how the next one turns out though if ever you have the chance to attend.
Great meeting you guys!
I’ve heard of what happened yesterday. It’s just sad.
My rant is part of our breakfast this morning. You are all kinder.
This is nothing more than a political fluff. If I have that kind of money to invest, I’d put up a comics publishing house; research the proper operations procedure vis-a-vis intellectual property code and the labor code; invite writers and artists or put out a call for submissions; then publish them. If I want grand things, I’ll have multiple launchings of these comics in every metro city in the country and push them whenever I could.
But that’s just me. I have no political ambition.
Syeri: Yeah but we shouldn’t let it dishearten us too much (though it is disheartening).
Ilyn: Gerry had an earful from me (or is it eyeful, since we were chatting?) earlier as well. Poor guy.
he.he. wala e. lambanog gusto nyo? pampa cool…
Gerry: Aba! Game ako diyan! Masarap lalo na kung may halong Coke.
